New class studies urban violenceSPA Chapter at Temple start a new class. In a sociology special topics course, college and high school students will work side by side to understand and explain violence in urban areas... The pilot urban violence course is unlike others at Temple. It was created after a campaign by the Student Peace Alliance related to an independent study for SPA Vice President Max Cuddy, a senior sociology and African-American studies major.

Ministry of Peace in Costa RicaWe are excited to share with you that Costa Rica has recently passed through their legislative body a bill to establish a Ministry for Justice and Peace!  This is encouraging news as momentum continues to grow around the world in favor of establishing structures at the highest levels of government that make peace a priority. We congratulate the hard work of the campaign in Costa Rica!  And, our own efforts continue to have an impact.
