Responsibilities: managing, supporting and developing the Student Peace Alliance college, regional, and state organizer network; serving as a liaison between the Coordinating Committee and state and regional organizers; building relationships and expanding the number of chapters; developing and directing National Actions; advocating for the interests and needs of grassroots.
Betsy Avila is a graduate from the University of Southern California where she majored in Fine Arts and Political Science. Betsy has worked in field and administration for various organizations, including ONE.org and the City of Los Angeles. She began her work with the Student Peace Alliance as a National Field Organizer before becoming the National Field Director. Betsy has a vision of peace based on compassion and equality, and will continue to work and make that vision a reality. She was born and raised in the City of Los Angeles, is a Libra, and has an unhealthy obsession for nachos. In her spare time she loves painting and drawing, watching The Dark Knight, and writing about herself in the third person. |
